About Me

I've wanted to be a writer as long as I can remember, starting with the first story I wrote about a runaway candy cane in second grade. To that end, I always did my English homework first, read everything I could get my hands on, and earned my degree in English and Creative Writing from the University of Texas at Austin with a minor in advertising.

Since then, I have been lucky enough to do what I love--working extensively as a freelance writer and editor for numerous magazines, newspapers, websites, and businesses for the past twenty years.   One of my proudest professional accomplishments was winning the American Cancer Society's Texas Media Award for best magazine feature story for my article on childhood cancer for Dallas Child magazine.   As a self-proclaimed grammar Nazi with a passion for marrying well-crafted content with good grammar and punctuation, I excel at writing, editing, and proofreading.

I added Amazon best-selling author to my resume with the 2012 publication of Wine in my Sippy Cup, a hilarious look at one woman's attempt to recover her romantic mojo after becoming a mother.
